Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to all purchases and agreements with Phoenix Charters Limited and any concerns can be sent to fish@phoenixcharters.co.nz

Pricing and accuracy

All pricing on phoenixcharters.co.nz are in New Zealand dollars and include GST.  While every effort is made to ensure the availability and pricing is correct on the website, at times the service you require may no longer be available and you will be contacted to choose another date or receive a refund.

Payment Deadlines

At the time of booking, you can choose to pay in full or pay a deposit.
Shared Charters:  A minimum 50% non-refundable deposit is required with balance due seven (7) days prior to the charter date.

Private Charters:  A $500 non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking, with the balance due seven (7) days prior to the charter.

Gift Vouchers:  Require full payment at time of purchase

Cancellations & Refunds

We understand things can occur to prevent you enjoying your fishing trip:

In the event of bad weather or vessel breakdowns, the Skipper at their discretion may cancel the Charter in the interests of your safety.
If we cancel your charter due to bad weather or a break down, we will give you the option to have your money refunded, or rebook a new date that suits you.

If you cancel for any reason, the following applies:
Shared Charters:  If you cancel a minimum seven (7) days prior, your charter cost can be applied as a one-off credit to use on a future date.  Cancellations within seven (7) days of fishing are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Private Charters:  If you cancel a minimum seven (7) days prior, your charter deposit can be applied as a one-off credit to use on a future date.  Cancellations within seven (7) days of fishing are non-refundable and non-transferable. If final payment is not made at least seven (7) days before the charter, you could lose your spot and the deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Gift Vouchers:  Are fully non-refundable, however you can transfer them to someone else.


‘Fishing is Fun – Catching is Better’  However we can not gaurantee you will catch fish!  The quota for Snapper is 7 per person.
Should you not catch your quota we will not be offering refunds or credits.
If everyone has caught their quota early the skipper will make the call to come in early or target another species.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers can only be redeemed for the charter they are purchased on, unless you decide to downgrade to a shorter charter, and no refund as available. Gift Vouchers are treated as cash, and should you apply to a booking and then cancel or no-show these can not be reused on another date.  Gift Vouchers unless stated otherwise are valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Health and Safety:

Our crew are highly experienced and trained in all emergency procedures on board. It is also a Health and Safety risk to not let intoxicated passengers on board the Vessel and you will be denied boarding with no refund.  Our Vessels are fully compliant, and our safety equipment is regularly checked as part of our Maritime operator’s system, the skipper will advise you where these are located.  Please listen to all instructions from the skipper regarding your safety and well being

Broken Gear:

While we understand accidents can happen, if you misuse the equipment in any way you may be liable to pay the replacement costs.  
This includes Rods from $200 and Reels from $250.
To avoid any issues please listen to the skipper in regards to handling and care of all equipment.

COVID-19 Amendments:

Phoenix Charters operates within the current guidelines set by the Ministry of Health. The Beast is cleaned and sanitized daily, and we provide hand washing stations and sanitizer on board for customers. Social distancing, face masks & other measures may be required on board depending on the Alert level status & Ministry of Health Guidelines in place at the time.

In the event of a lockdown or the charter not being able to operate due to COVID restrictions, all monies paid can be transferred to an alternative charter date.  No refunds will be offered.   If a voucher is due to expire during a lock down, these can be extended for a reasonable period.

Privacy Act

Phoenix Charters Limited complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (the Act) when dealing with personal information.  Personal information is information about an identifiable individual (a natural person).

This policy sets out how we will collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information.

This policy does not limit or exclude any of your rights under the Act.  If you wish to seek further information on the Act, see www.privacy.org.nz.

We may change this policy by uploading a revised policy onto the website.  The change will apply from the date that we upload the revised policy.

We collect personal information from you, including information about your:

  • name
  • contact information
  • billing or purchase information

We collect your personal information in order to:

  • Make a booking on our fishing charters and invoice accordingly

Providing some information is optional. If you choose not to enter any of these details, we will be unable to make a booking for you.

We will take reasonable steps to keep your personal information safe from loss, unauthorised activity, or other misuse.  Other than the staff and crew of Phoenix Charters, your details will not be shared with any third parties.

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you would like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please contact us at fish@phoneixcharters.co.nz
